Banded Flushmount

Anything but light
Just installed this light. First thing you notice on unpacking the box is how heavy the metal frame is. This light is anything but light. It looks great and the heft suggests a quality fixture. This is the 9th HF light we have installed in our house. It is also the poorest design when considering installation. It is held to the existing ceiling box by only 2 small bolts. There is very little room for excess wire or the wire nuts. I was able to push the wire nuts up into the box, but the 5 wires coming down to the fixture are still stuffed between the mounting ring and the fixture. There is an 1/8" layer of foam into which the wires are crushed--but otherwise there is no room for this necessary wiring. Worst design I have ever seen in a HB installation. Also, installing the heavy fixture to the bracket attached to the celing box is very hard to line up. We are talking lining up two 1/8" holes in the light with two holes in the attachment bracket. You really need two strong people to do this. I did it alone by using an 8' 1X4 board to hold the light to the ceiling while I moved the fixture around to finally line up the mounting holes. I love the looks of the light fixture, love the light from two 75 W incandescent bulbs (will try to find two 60 W bulbs), but did not like the installation methods.
Flush-Mount ceiling fixture
Great quality. Really looks great. Fast service and shipping.
This is a beautiful fixture!
A heavy, wonderfully created bronze frame and perfect with the simple globe that sits fllush to the ceiling. Nicely done.
