The Balthus Indoor/Outdoor Wall Sconce from Modern Forms draws inspiration from traditional lantern design while incorporating LED technology. Developed in 2015, this piece features an arched arm that extends from the wall to support a hooded structure containing the light source. The mouth-blown, hammered glass shade creates textural light patterns when illuminated, while the aluminum construction provides weather resistance for exterior installations. The cylindrical clear glass allows the LED to project downward while the hood prevents upward light pollution, making it suitable for environmentally conscious outdoor lighting.
