The GUBI lighting Bestlite BL3S Floor Lamp is an iconic design synonymous with the cross pollination of European modernism in the 20th century. Originally designed in 1930 by Robert Dudley best of England, the crisply detailed floor lamp is heavily influenced by the German Bauhaus school of thought. Best applied the philosophy that fine art and craft could coexist to the Bestlite, resulting in the task oriented and simple structure seen today. The angled arm arcs the smooth aluminum shade for ideal reading light and is clasped with a hinge which adjusts the height of the shade along the central stem.

Really wish I could love the lamp more, it is beautiful. But the base is dinged at the front and the cord looping above the shade, got partially torn during shipping. The box the lamp came in was practically held together with office scotch tape. Top of the lamp was peaking out, which is why I think the cord wire got ripped. Overall, lamp was a good price - would never have paid full price for such a crappy experience.

Bottom Line No, I would not recommend to a friend
