Understated drama

I've wanted one of these for years, from when I lived in a northern WI town with a strong Finnish heritage. I'm so glad I bought the large vase — It's sculpture empty and equally gorgeous with 3 or 4 stems of flowers or a vaseful. The blue's beautiful.

Beautiful
I have the original Aalto vase in clear glass and have always loved the look of it. I wanted a taller vase in a color and this size Aalto vase is just what I needed. It's a beautiful color and the proportions are just right.
great vase makes the living room looks modern

Works well both with flowers and just as a standalone object.
Iittala
In 1881, a small glass factory was founded in the little town of iittala, Finland. Its blown, pressed, polished, painted and etched glass was high quality...but, at least from a design perspective, not highly original. That all changed during the modernism period of the 1930s and 40s, when famed Finnish designers Alvar Aalto and Kaj Franck became involved in iittala glassware design. From there, iittala made the permanent transition from ornate dinner sets to simplified and functional--yet still highly beautiful--glasses, dinnerware, cookware, vases and other decorative home accessories.
