Storied artist and designer Mathieu Challières brings to each piece a vocabulary of forms and a spontaneous creation approach. Like this approach, each handmade bird on display rests on the same position but varies in color according to the mood of the artist from one piece to the other. The scale of the birds and their sense of movement naturally direct the eye in and out of the airy aviary shade. Hanging with a delicate cord, a lone bulb rests at the top. The bulb gently glazes the personality-filled birds with warm light for a peaceful, tone-setting display.

Mathieu Challières

Mathieu Challieres is an independent studio led by self-taught designer Mathieu Challieres. After studying film writing, advertising, and art history, he founded his own studio in the mid-2000s. Each product is produced in Belleville, Paris, France with his team.
