The Kartell Upper Stepstool designed by Alberto Meda and Paolo Rizzatto is a successful marriage of form and function. Its pragmatism is made possible by the technology employed by Kartell and has permitted the shaping of polycarbonate, giving it the durability, strength and toughness which a stepladder requires. The metal structure is solid and welded to a polished and crystalline body in transparent polycarbonate. The slip-resistant steps are practical and safe. The Upper Stepstool can support a maximum weight of 570 lbs.

Comments about Upper Stepstool

It's not easy to find a clear stepstool and this one is quite nice. The clear part makes it less intrusive when used, say in a library.

Comments about Upper Stepstool

It looks really cool, but the 4 legs are not level. It's pretty wobbly when you step on it. It's a shame.

Merchant Response

Sturdy and discreet cat assist

I bought this to enable my elderly cat to get up on the counter where his food is located. I wanted something that would fit in a small space and be inconspicuous. This fit the bill. Full price was a bit much but on sale it was somewhat tolerable.

I bought two colors and put one on the upper and lower floors. It can be folded and does not take up space. I use it every day and I have to give them five stars.

Kartell

Based in Milan, Italy, Kartell was founded in 1949 by chemical engineer Giulio Castelli and his wife, architect Anna Castelli. Originally a producer of car accessories, it was Kartell's experimentation in plastics for the home that made them famous. Stylish home accessories and lighting dominated the 1950s, with the first injection-molded furniture emerging in the 1960s. Since then, the Kartell modern furniture line has only continued to grow, including contemporary chairs, tables, sofas and more--all made out of durable, lightweight and surprisingly comfortable plastic.
