The FLOS Story
Key Features
The Tatou S Pendant from FLOS exudes exceptional style, drawing its name from the French word for "armadillo," an homage to the animal's unique protective structure. Designed by Patricia Urquiola, this pendant lamp reflects her vision of light filtration with remarkable finesse. The Tatou suspension lamp provides diffused lighting, featuring an exterior diffuser in PC (polycarbonate) and an injection-printed opal PC internal diffuser. Its versatile socket accommodates compact fluorescent or halogen bulbs. Inspired by Japanese armor, Urquiola ingeniously reconstructs membranes, uniting metal buckles with emotional resonance, resulting in the emotive and functional design of Tatou.
FLOS was first established in 1962 in Merano, Italy, to produce high quality modern lighting. This Italian lighting company continues to do so to this day by collaborating with talented international designers and researching the latest lighting technologies and materials. Resulting FLOS lighting fixtures are daring and provocative, yet uphold the fundamental principles of good design.

Bulb shapes are denoted with a letter, which describes the shape, and a number, which indicates the size. The number indicates the diameter of the light bulb at its widest part in eighths of an inch.Base
