hinkleylighting.comI use these lights to illuminate the steps from the house deck to the patio. They look beautiful and very high quality. The only reason I say they are hard to install is because you need a recipricating saw to cut the rectangular holes instead of just a drill.

hinkleylighting.comNice looking light. Probably the only company out there making a low voltage AC downward stair riser light. Several complaints: - paint chips easily (chunk came off with painter tape) - dimensioning is in .01" and needs to be dead on otherwise you'll cut out material where the mounting screws go. - paper template is useless. I had to fabricate a template out of hardwood to use as a guide for the oscillating tool Final comment - lights are rated at 160 lumens. Seems brighter than that - perhaps because you're looking straight at them when coming up the walkway. Can't dim, as there are other lights on the same circuit.

Comments about Taper LED Wide Horizontal Step Light
The light seems really high quality, and likely to hold up to the harsh SoCal elements. However, even though this is listed as a "Recessed" installation type, this is actually a surface mounted application. Since we need to install this into the stair itself, and don't want it to impede the treads, we had to return.

Good Product; well made

hinkleylighting.comI installed these on a 90' semi-circle retaining wall. I fed the wiring through plastic conduit installed in the brick. I spaced them every 15'. They are just what we wanted and, if one fails, it will be easy to replace.
