The Stem 3-Light Wall / Flushmount by SkLO is a beautifully balanced piece from designer duo Karen Gilbert and her husband Paul Pavlak. Combining their design disciplines, this simple display of handblown Czech glass embraces their philosophy to honor honest materials and traditional craftsmanship. A set of brass arms connect these individually made glass spheres together, each one marked with its own, unique, double-dipped, and fire-polished mouth that shows where it was broken away from the glassblower’s pipe when it was created. Diffusing a lovely layer of light, this fixture has a minimalistic nature that lends itself well to work as either a sconce or ceiling light.

SkLO

Located in Northern California, SkLO is the brainchild of artist Karen Gilbert, architect Paul Pavlak, and Czech-native Pavel Hanousek. The three met in Healdsburg in 2009, and after discovering a unanimous passion for hand-blown glass (sklo means “glass” in Czech), they decided to create a multi-disciplinary studio focusing on glass lighting and accessory design.
