The Standard SP Chair brings a contemporary look to a Jean Prouve classic design. Like the original Standard Chair, the Standard SP Chair achieves its unique style by combining different front and back chair legs with a two-tone color palette. Far from just an aesthetic choice, Prouve designed the chair legs to support the varying levels of strain a seated person places on the chair. Taking the brunt of the weight, the rear legs are substantial, yet hollow, to pass any strain from the chair frame to the floor. The lighter impact on the front legs allows the chair to rest on legs crafted from tubular steel piping. A robust plastic seat surface and backrest completes the transformation of this classic side chair.
