A ray of warm light adjustable with a simple tweak. Satisfy your need for versatility and simplicity with the Ray Pendant from Mater. It’s an elegant, sustainable, and ingenious design. With function and aesthetics in mind, designer PEDERJESSEN brings a holistic approach that thinks about a piece’s impact on the environment to its effect on one’s mood. Satisfying mother nature, this piece uses FSC-certified oak wood that’s been harvested from ethically maintained forests. The oak shade pops with warmth and organic detail but sets the piece off as it adjusts to your desired position with magnets. A steel half-dome shell serves as an elegant partner to the wood in its clean, one-tone surface. Held up with a slender down rod suspension, the piece serves on its own or as a series. Turn on its low heat, energy-efficient LED module and feel the ambiance brighten up as it streams a directed light.
Founded in 2006 by Henrik Marstrand, Mater (Latin for “mother”) is a Danish lighting and furniture brand with a highly ethical approach to design. As a way to improve the environmental and social impacts of production, Mater sums up their company mission in three words: Design, craftsmanship and ethics. Using responsibly sourced materials to create their timeless designs, Mater not only strives to preserve traditional techniques, but takes care to create a cooperative environment between designers and artisans both in Denmark and abroad.
