Pochette Wall Sconce

We finally found the prefect wall scones at Y-Lighting for our mid-century modern home in Palm Springs… but we needed them shipped quickly so we could get them installed before our first vacation rental guest arrived. This is a beautiful sculptural piece suitable for indoor lighting which balances cool and hot tones with sleek lines providing a clean finish in a modern setting. The Pochette Wall Sconce is available in two finishes. We chose chrome to correspond with the fixtures in our bathroom despite the additional cost. For an additional charge, we also chose the up-down version of the light for the interest of the downlight. The downlight is very subtle and projects only a trace of amber light. The filament of the downlight light bulb is also positioned slightly off-centre. Both lights work well on our dimmer switch. In terms of its finishing, this piece reflects high manufacturing quality. Relative to other less expensive chrome pieces, the edges in this light are well crafted, without any misaligned seams or obtrusive screws. The application in our home was as a bathroom light above a mirror over a bathroom sink. It would have been best mounted higher than we did, closer to the ceiling rather than directly above the mirror. In our application, our electrician was also not able to mount the light directly over the sink due to the position of the joists, so it is slightly off-center relative to the sink. Ideally, in our project, the sink, wall joists and lighting could be better planned in anticipation of the proper alignment of the light.

This sconce is sleek and shinny and substantial -- it's actually heavy -- the perfect ambient light source with style and bling.

I was concerned when ordering it about the size of the fixture. After recieving and installing the fixture in my clients home, size was of no importance. I could not be more happy with the fixture nor can the client. FLOS is an amazing line with amazing quality.
