The styling is nice but there is a flaw in the engineering. After a few noisy nights running this at various speeds and a number of 60 minute unanswered calls to Minka-Aire tech support I decided to find the problem myself. There is a vertical seam between blades. The gap vanishes at the bottom due to the weight of the longer blades creating a plastic on plastic rub. To verify this was the noise source I lifted the blades enough to slip cardboard in the slot. The noise went away. Now I can either sand off some plastic, find a suitable spacer that doesn't hit the light or return it. Currently at 55 minutes holding for tech support as their automated call back goes straight to VM.
