Key Features
The Patera Oval Pendant by Louis Poulsen brings a beautiful, glowing focal point to spaces. Designed by Øivind Slaatto, this dynamic design is comprised of small, diamond-shaped cells for a dynamic, Fibonacci sequence-based structure. Like a three-dimensional Sudoku, this design was carefully crafted like a math equation, allowing each cell to appear to capture light and shield the source within when viewed from above 45 degrees and to open up and cast an even layer of illumination down onto surroundings when viewed below 45 degrees. Precise and pretty, this pendant is simply suspended in spaces by a single cord, and a small amount of light escapes upward, lending the ceiling an ambient touch.
When you hear the name Louis Poulsen, you think distinctive modern Danish lighting. From the classic icons of the 1920s to more recent pieces, all Louis Poulsen lighting is created based on a deep-felt respect for architecture, understanding the emotional effect of lighting and the belief that shadow is just as aesthetically important as light. All three aspects manifest themselves in the sculptural layering and comfortable, glare-free light of Louis Poulsen pendants, wall, table and floor lamps.
