Derived from a 1971 partnership between Achille Castiglioni and Pio Manzù, the Parentesi Suspension Floor Lamp from FLOS takes its name from the parenthesis symbol, mirroring the nickel-plated tube that slides along a floor-to-ceiling steel cable. The Parentesi blends the concept of a floor light and a ceiling lamp by including a ceiling mount and floor base. Although strong and stable, the Parentesi gives the illusion of lightness with its slender silhouette and cable that appears to float in space.

Hi, this is the most beautiful lamp, and I have coveted it for years. But please don't install it around little children, for the sake of the children. Wait a few years until they are past the dangerous age.
