Beautiful light... with a caveat

Submitted 10 years ago

So this light is absolutely gorgeous. Solid construction with a great deal of style. I looked for a new sconce for weeks before stumbling onto this. But... it was a nightmare to install. My home's electrical system was put in in 1985, so it's not current but it isn't ancient either. The way this light has to be mounted is absolutely in only one direction because the holding arm is attached to the mounting plate... but the mounting plate only has screw holes off to the side at about 30 degrees past straight up and down. It would not mount to my junction box, not even with a different mounting plate. I had to pay an electrician to come in and change out the junction box. Buyer beware. Look at your wiring first to see what you have to make sure you can mount this. Those of you with very new houses may not have any problems but if your wiring hasn't been done very recently, proceed with caution. Lesson learned. I love the lamp but it cost me a hefty electrician's fee I wasn't looking to spend. Also, don't buy the bulbs Lumens suggests. They don't fit into the glass shade.

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Miconos Wall Light adds interest in a bathroom.

I used a pair of Miconos Wall Lights in the Master Bath of a project.Teamed with a custom greyed wood rift-sawn framed mirror, they're pleasingly unexpected. The large scale makes a fun, modern, fresh statement and adds interest to a typical bathroom.

Artemide

Artemide takes its name from Artemis, the Greek goddess of the moon—a reflection of the brand’s ethos in creating fixtures that deliver an elegant, ethereal glow. Founded in Milan in 1960 by Ernesto Gismondi and Sergio Mazza, Artemide has been a driving force in Italian modern design.
