Key Features
German designer Sebastian Herkner is constantly inspired by the cultures of the world. His unbridled curiosity shines in the Manila Pendant from Parachilna, a piece named after the “Mantón de Manila,” a silk shawl often seen accentuating the graceful and seductive movement of a traditional flamenco dancer. Herkner uses authentic materials and true artisanship to pay homage to the shawl. The draping garment is recreated as a finely striated diffuser made in plissé textiles. To properly display and frame the shawl inspiration, a blown glass shade wraps over with an elegant reflective quality. Blissful with the lights off, the textile diffuser transforms with the flip of a switch into a sensuous arrangement of swift contours. Light mellows out through the forms to create an ambient downlight.
Parachilna, a Spanish lighting brand, is best known for its innovative lighting designs that focus on artisanal craftsmanship. Offering a variety of indoor and outdoor lighting solutions, Parachilna is instantly recognized by its ultramodern designs that expertly crafted with premium materials and eye-catching colorways. From its minimalist suspension lights to the brand’s durable yet chic outdoor lighting, Parachilna designs have helped the brand stand out among consumers and designers worldwide.
