Blurring the lines between art and design, the Lilli Pendant Light from Kundalini imagines the strongly curved petals of the martagon lily flower with a rhythmic blown glass form. Designer Cristina Celestino describes herself as an “objects investigator,” using observation and research of the natural world to inform her work. Native to much of Europe and Asia, the martagon lily’s delicate stem is illustrated with a sleek down rod. The flower’s seeds are suggested in the elegant, light-catching globe finial at the base. Its bulbous shade gives everyone around the room a silhouette of upsurging curves like that of the lily’s petals. Light mellows through the shade as a relaxed ambiance and streams through the opening for a directed glow.
