Gorgeous fan, but a design flaw causes clicking

I bought 5 Lapa fans for my house. I love their appearance. Love the sturdy motor, etc. However, they all have an incessant clicking at high speeds. It clicks all night. After rehanging several times, taping down all the wires. Insuring everything was screwed tight. I finally figured out the DESIGN FLAW. The metal of the housing for the motor clicks against the metal of the coupling for the ceiling. After sliding friction tape in between the metal on both sides. It stops. I'm now starting to like my fans again. I had hated them for so long. And, thought I had been ripped off by the Modern Fan company for such poor quality. I still feel the latter. But, now it finally doesn't click. It has been so aggravating and has taken so long to figure out, I just had to warn others.

I have two other fans manufactured by modern fan company and they have worked flawlessly for over 7 years. This was my first experience with Y Lighting, and everything went very well. Y Lighting was very efficient and easy to work with.

Super quiet fan with great air output

I ordered the Lapa Flushmount fan in the galvanized body with white blades and a light kit. The first fan had issues with the galvanized finish, but Lumens and Modern Fan Co took care of it super fast with no inconvenience to us - amazing! The galvanized is definitely more distressed than your typical galvanized finish, but the second one we received looks good. I recommend holding it up in the position your plan to install it in so you can see the finish relative to the way light will fall on it. Packaging of the fan parts was superior, installation was straight forward, and the light puts off good neutral color. The fans' speed/blade design puts out good airflow at all levels. I'd been thinking about ordering a fan from Modern Fan Co for a while, and now I'm very glad I did. Also Lumens never disappoints - so given you're looking at two website with the same pricing, I'd highly recommend choosing Lumens because of their outstanding customer service. (I've ordered many times over many years and never had an issue.)

Bottom Line Yes, I would recommend to a friend

Modern Fan Company

The Modern Fan Company was founded in 1997 by industrial designer Ron Rezek in Ashland, Oregon. It was the first (and to this day, only) company of its kind: a designer and manufacturer of contemporary ceiling fans. It was established based on the overwhelming success of Rezek's 1986 design of the Stratos Ceiling Fan, which did away with all ornate brass scrollwork and blade irons standard up until that time.
