The Knox Vanity Light from Maxim Lighting arranges three rounded glass globes along a horizontal bar, with the center globe set slightly lower than the two at either end. Sloping arms connect each globe to the bar, leveling out near its center to hold the globes steady. That stepped arrangement gives the fixture a mid-century-inspired shape, built from glass globes held within a steel frame spaced evenly across the full width of the bar.

Maxim Lighting

Back in 1965, Jacob Sperling came to Los Angeles to study aeronautical engineering. Inspired by a job working for a lighting retailer, he turned his mechanical skills to the manufacture of lighting fixtures, building them in his garage and selling them out of his station wagon. In 1970, he brought brother Zvi on to help, and Maxim Lighting was born.
