my favorite kettle
I love this Alessi kettle for it's beautiful design as well as utility. The one aspect that one must be aware of is the fact that the heat source (particularly gas burners) can not be larger than the base of the kettle. If so there is a chance that the bird whistle will melt during boiling.

A kettle sits on the stove and can be used to heat water but this one is a work of art to please anyone even while it is not being used. Functionally it does the job but be sure to take the spout bird off carefully and perhaps with hand protection. Visually, I just look its looks.
My ALessi teapot is wondeful.
