Kay Bojesen
Originally trained as a silversmith, Danish designer Kay Bojesen (1886–1958) is remembered not only for his mastery of metalwork, but for creating some of the most beloved wooden figures in Scandinavian design history. His animal characters—beginning with the now-iconic Monkey, crafted in 1951—reflect a philosophy of functional playfulness, blending the clarity of mid-century Danish modernism with imagination and a childlike sense of wonder.
