Gweilo Qin LED Floor Lamp

A ghostly sculpture. Translating from Chinese, the Gweilo Qin LED Floor Lamp by Parachilna was named for its abstract and translucent form, meaning ghost. Designed by Toronto-based studio Partisans, this lamp captures the smart and beautiful solution when asked how one could create a piece that emulates light itself, rather than a fixture or housing for standard bulbs. Working with acrylic sheets that are heated up and manipulated by hand in a process called thermoforming, light is able to radiate across an architectural landscape of folds and drapes, defining and dividing spaces with a magical and captivating quality.
