We liked the George Kovaks design until we got it installed. Unfortunately, it has a bright glow in the dark on/off button that is terrible if you want it as a bedside light.

Overall the lamps are okay. They certainly look good and the overall quality is fine but they have a few serious shortcomings. The switch is always lit when the lamp is off and it is too bright for a bedroom bedside reading lamp as a consequence. The second more serious problem is the way the switch is anchored to the lamp face. The manufacture used sort of a snap ring that clearly wasn't working well. The solution was to use hot melt glue to hold everything in place. The problem is that any pressure on the rear cover plate pops the switch out. This is unacceptable. The client liked the lamps so in one case we installed the lamps without the back plate and I had to re-glue the other two, ridiculous. If these were for me I would have sent them back.

build.com/The on off button stays lit when the light is off and it is bright enough at night that it wakes me up. Our electrician hardwired the lamps, discarded the boxes etc. so returning or replacing is not an option at this point. Also, one of the lamp heads of the two we bought will not stay positioned exactly the way we want it to. Not bad but annoying for as expensive as the lamps were.

build.com/The movement is very stiff and not easy to adjust. It may loosen over time with use or, perhaps I could try some silicone spray on the joints. Also, it doesn't have nearly the light I expected and need where positioned for reading; I probably didn't understand the lumens specified. I do like the contemporary design.
On/Off switch light is bright when light is OFF

build.com/Great light for bedside reading. I do not like that I have to lean so far to turn it off. I would prefer a toggle on a wire that I can reach easier. The reason I gave a 4 instead of a 5 is the light that comes from the on/off button is very bright. I wish that was an option to have on rather than a necessity. It is not good for one's health to have a light on when sleeping and this button is amazingly bright when the light is turned OFF.
