Sign InEglo was first founded in 1969 by Ludwig Obweiser. After years of development, the official headquarters was built in 1976 in Pill, Austria. In the '80s, the focus of the company was on expansion. And expand it did, with Eglo growing into one of the top lighting manufacturers in Europe, and then eventually the world.
The company now has more than 70 locations distributing Eglo's decorative contemporary lighting products worldwide. Obweiser continues to oversee them all, and runs the company with his son, Christian.
The enthusiasm with which Eglo expanded its presence throughout the world carries through into the lighting itself. (After all, what good is a global company if the product doesn't follow through on quality?) The selection of lighting that Eglo produces meets a wide range of modern tastes, ranging from metallic and space-age to sparkling crystal to colorful art glass. And being global has made Eglo mindful of protecting the world for the long-term. To that end, Eglo focuses on sustainable manufacturing practices and using energy-efficient technology.
For maximum speed of product distribution, Eglo currently oversees several thousand warehouses throughout Europe, covering a total area of about 70,000 square meters.
The spherical shape of the Rondo collection adds soft geometry to modern spaces while diffusing light in all directions. Meanwhile, the sharper lines and crystalline cuts of the Aves collection shimmer dramatically. The Belfast collection has a cool industrial-contemporary lighting effect for exteriors.
