Plato Design brings to life objects that welcome customization through their balance of refinement, texture, and color. By sitting flush against the wall and displaying precise angles, this sconce looks natural in various scenarios. Its compact cube form catches the curious eye with unique marks made by hand-working concrete. The textured concrete cube keeps its slides thin to give the light room to feel airy and resonate. This light filters through a diffuser out the top and bottom, creating a defined silhouette that looks dramatic on the wall.
An Italian design company, Plato Design was founded in 2016 by Alessandro Mattei and Caterina Naglieri. Each product is made sustainably with concrete or wood and is designed and assembled by hand in the company’s workshop in the Umbrian countryside.
