Key Features
Geometry’s Cartesian grid takes on a lighting function in this poetic piece. The Coordinates LED Wall / Flushmount from FLOS is an ultra-refined design, lining one’s wall or ceiling up with a mood-setting glow. The design’s clear function and silhouette underscore designer Michael Anastassiades’ reductive approach to design. The designer creates pieces that are designed to stand the test of time by balancing function, aesthetics, and spiritual essence. Anastassiades takes the plotted point and the axis line of the cartesian grid and transforms them into distinct lighting shapes. These shapes are made from extruded aluminum. The metal rod prominently displays an opal diffuser that helps produce a softened, glare-free light. The LEDs turn on to accentuate the graphic shapes in silhouette while producing a warm glow that can be mounted overhead or against the wall.
FLOS was first established in 1962 in Merano, Italy, to produce high quality modern lighting. This Italian lighting company continues to do so to this day by collaborating with talented international designers and researching the latest lighting technologies and materials. Resulting FLOS lighting fixtures are daring and provocative, yet uphold the fundamental principles of good design.
