The Catu Basket from Serax raises a wide, rounded bowl on a tall, tapered stand made up of dozens of thin vertical wires. Designed by Antonino Sciortino, the piece narrows sharply from the bowl down to a smaller base, giving it a top-heavy stance closer to a pedestal than a typical basket. Made from iron, the open wirework runs continuously from the rim down through the legs, so the bowl and stand read as one connected structure rather than two separate parts.
