Key Features

Made in Italy
The Abbracciaio Candleholder from Kartell tells a story of connection through its coupled form. This aluminum piece, designed by Philippe Starck with Ambroise Maggiar, consists of two separate parts that join together in what appears as an embrace—hence its name, which suggests a hug or embrace in Italian. The candleholder gains its stability from this very connection, with each component supporting the other when placed together. This piece’s minimalist yet expressive design offers a fresh interpretation of the traditional candelabra while providing a stable platform for candles.

Kartell

Based in Milan, Italy, Kartell was founded in 1949 by chemical engineer Giulio Castelli and his wife, architect Anna Castelli. Originally a producer of car accessories, it was Kartell's experimentation in plastics for the home that made them famous. Stylish home accessories and lighting dominated the 1950s, with the first injection-molded furniture emerging in the 1960s. Since then, the Kartell modern furniture line has only continued to grow, including contemporary chairs, tables, sofas and more--all made out of durable, lightweight and surprisingly comfortable plastic.
