Uovo Table Lamp

The Uovo Table Lamp from FontanaArte takes its shape directly from the egg, a form that Ben Swildens used in 1972 to explore the meeting point of symmetry and asymmetry. The diffuser is white satin-blown glass, producing a uniform, soft output that reads almost luminous against the white-painted metal base. There is something gently ironic in the concept of placing a light source inside an eggshell, and that quality still comes through in the finished object. The lamp is dimmable, with a black power cable and switch completing the setup.
