Very cool light - throws intersting shadows. A bit of a pain to dust but worth it.

We love these fixtures. We have never seen anything like them and were not disappointed when they arrived. The pattern in the cardboard is swirled, causing the light pattern to change as you walk around the fixture. Also, the light illuminates the cardboard on the inside which is beautiful from underneath. We used silver-tipped bulb in the living room where we want mostly ambient light and used a spotlight bulb in the den where we wanted more downlight. They are lovely light fixtures and nearly everyone comments on them.

The light is very well made from cardboard. It looks nice when it's off or on. When off, the shadows and the light reflections on the surface create an interesting '8-bit' white and gray color gradient effect. When it's on, the colors are warm yellowish with almost blue shadows. It's not super bright as it only has one light bulb.

We purchased this fixture after searching through hundreds, and decided to purchase even though we had concerns about sufficient light output. To test this we held the shade over an existing pendant light to give an idea as to how it would look installed. Very glad we did as we noticed something troubling. When viewing from two opposing sides of the shade, the light shines through highlighting the cool design. However, on the remaining two sides, virtually no light at all shines through due to the variation in pattern on the shade. The combination of low output to begin with and no light emitting from 50% of the shade confirmed that this would not work for our application. We are very glad we didn't install it only to discover this limitation as we would have been unable to return it. Unfortunately, this unique and attractive shade will be returned. And the search continues...
