Fun way to light a staircase. I love the soft light - I'll be adding a dimmer for more flexibility.

Nice light but installation is extremely difficult due to subpar quality of the light.

For the price, the materials quality is lacking. Once installed the Ramen sconce hides the plasticky back with a fine-looking aluminum face plate, but the overall quality is disappointing. While listed as a soft/diffused/ambient light this is anything but- quite bright, so be sure to factor that in when considering your needs. Many of the other lights I've installed in our home over the past year have included an adjustable color temp switch, this would benefit mightily from that addition but is lacking on the current version. The most noticeable issue by far, though, is the pain of installation. The bracket hardware and included screws are oddly-sized and finicky, the wiring that powers the LEDs themselves is exposed. Aligning the faceplate screws with the internal mounting posts is near impossible. But the worst part is the twist-to-seal mechanism, which is 100% plastic, not well executed, and feels ready to snap or break when applying the required pressure to rotate and close the unit. The foam gasket was not well applied, and I would not feel comfortable installing these in any location that could be effected by moisture.
