Inspired by the radiating, flat-leaf plant by the same name, the Heracleum III LED Linear Suspension from Moooi fascinates across one’s tables in an organic silhouette paired with emotional light. Designer Bertian Pot’s work highlights his fascination for techniques, structures, patterns, and colors. Here, Pot breaks down the robust branching structure of the Heracleum plant into a composition of slender metal arms. While dynamic in placement, the arms feel collected as they flow out of the clean, dashing horizontal line of the crossbar. This crossbar hangs from a pair of ultra-fine wires that enhances the ethereal, floating character of the piece. Going back down to the arms, sandwiched polycarbonate lenses evoke the image of the leaf with soft, opaque shapes. LED light gives the leaves a charming, bright pop and the room a spirited atmosphere.
