Fungo Table Lamp

Plant a smooth and stately art object on indoor tables with the fantastically expressive Fungo Table Lamp from Venini. At once fabulous and functional, its mushroom shape was designed in the mid-20th century by Massimo Vignenlli. Made in Italy and a winner of the Compasso d’Oro industrial design award, its blown glass form ascends from a conical base that forms the mushroom “Stem” while flaring out and then into a central opening above. The entire fixture is accompanied by adding white glass rods, or “canne,” in something called the “Tessuto” technique that hearkens to vintage vase construction, adding a complex surface pattern to a simple shape that glows from within.
