Cervantes LED Smart Ceiling Fan

I initially bought an MF Osprey from a brick/motor store that was DOA on install. i was cautioned about the wiring and the critical importance of the ground wires. I confirmed my install with one of the company's reps in NY and he said it was either a dead receiver or a dead motor (lights worked fine). Very rare, he said. Returned to store and was actually upgraded/discounted to their Woody model for my trouble. I ordered one and found out that a "component" was on backorder and the fan would not be available for a month. When I searched online, where it appears drop-shipping is the rule, virtually every website said there were multiple available. Even when one of the online dealers called MF and spoke to purchasing, she was told they were available, but my store called them back and confirmed they were not. I finally settled on the Cervantes and purchased it from a different BMS, which was a straightforward setup until I got to the light module. Their MO is to remove one of three screws, loosen the other two and then slip two keyholes on the adapter plate/light module, etc. over the stationary screws, twist and then replace the third screw and tighten the other two. Their instructions say to do this for the light module. The problem is that the plate did not have keyholes but instead had holes only big enough for a screw shaft. Aligning the holes is virtually impossible. I'm not sure they actually line up, so I drilled rough versions of a key hole for all three screws. I could then attach the module, but would there was not enough room between the module and the adapter plate above. I fixed this by placing 1/8 plastic washers between the two parts. It's up, it works and no-one is the wiser, but my wife and I are both a bit disgusted. While their fans are beautiful, the business model reminds me of DeLorean.

Not sure about the issues the other reviewer had...but I didn't have any of those, and thought I should balance out the 2-star rating. I will also mention that I bought it for about 40% off of list price...so the cost was not unreasonable.

These fans look very nice and high quality as a series on a covered porch.

We certainly did our research. We replaced a chandelier with this beautiful fan/light. A 6 speed is usually found in larger fans. Excellent quality; looks great in the dining area, we have used it daily since installing it about 1 month ago. We now have 6 ceiling fans and this one is by far our favorite.
