Wall Control 6 Speed DC

This is a follow-up to my previous review complaining about the fan not working. When we pulled apart the wall mounted switch, we discovered it contained a battery A23. Now who would have thought a wall switch, that is wired to our home's electrical current, would need a battery. Obviously, not us nor our electrician. So now every year I will need to find some A23 batteries and replace them so our fans will work. SO inconvenient. But at least replacing that tiny battery made our fans turn on again. Hinkley, you could do a better job on putting your product manuals where they're more accessible from your website so we can solve these problems without an hour or two of research and trial and error.

Two years ago I had two of these installed in my vacation home. They were hardly used at all when the motor started squealing on one of them. It took about a year to get it repaired under warranty and then we used the product for about one or two weeks (it's in a guest room). We came back a year later and now NEITHER fan will come on. The light works, but not he fan. I can find no directions online for this specific product but I did try the ones for the fan where you turn it off and hold "0" for 20 seconds. This remote has no "0" but I tried anything that looked similar. It was extremely difficult to do the original programming because we had two of the same fans close to each other and fixing one would cause the other to not work properly. Our electrician finally figured that out during installation but now NEITHER fan works. How I wish we could just have a good old-fashioned pull-the-cord and don't-lose-the-remote-that-requires-programming kind of fan. All this high tech stuff has NOT made life easier or more efficient.
