Designed in 1952, the Nelson Cigar Criss Cross Bubble Pendant by Herman Miller was an important player in defining mid-century modern design, and are so iconic that they are part of the permanent collection of the MoMA in New York. Made with a spray-coated plastic originally made for the military, the Nelson Cigar Criss Cross Bubble Pendant features a bead-shaped steel frame that is slightly visible through the shade. The shape is trimmed with Brushed Nickel, and creates perfectly diffused light through its uniquely crafted material.

Simple and classic never goes out of style

We are hanging this in the 1.5 story foyer of our our "modernized" one-level townhome. It's perfect; simple and classic. There's a reason the Nelson cigar never goes out of style. Less really is more. That said, the internal criss-cross pattern adds a bit of added interest that makes you look twice.

This lamp is a classic! This is our second cigar criss cross. Hanging this in the living room with the other one so that they are a pair. Love it! Shipping took longer than expected due to Modernica computer systems being down.

We love purchasing our lighting upgrades at Y Lighting. In particular this Cigar Criss Cross Nelson Lamp is great. Other online sites had a hard time keeping this one in stock. The package came quickly and was packed extremely well. LOVE that they have modern lighting.

Beautiful look and easy installation. Cigar-shaped hanging fixture fits perfectly in our stairwell, and the criss-cross pattern is elegant. Saw the same lamp for considerably more at a lighting center.
