- Best suited on dry surfaces. Vacuum to remove loose dirt. If necessary, clean with a residential carpet cleaner or wet mop the surface. Lift the mat off the floor and allow face and backing to air dry completely before placing the mat on the floor again. Blot spills quickly with a lint-free cloth. Should a stain occur, scrub with a soft bristle brush and a bleach-based cleanser; this will remove the stain without altering the fabric. Do not iron. Do not machine wash. Avoid use of rubber castors or placing objects made of rubber on the woven floor mat, discoloration will occur. When moving or storing, roll up your mat with weave facing outward. We recommend you occasionally lift and air out your woven floor mat. In sustained damp conditions, where moisture may be trapped under the mat for prolonged periods of time, this practice will keep the backing from clinging to the floor. If mat is left unmoved for prolonged periods of time, some flooring surfaces may interact with the mat backing. This occurrence is easily avoided by simply lifting or moving your mat occasionally.

Great Kitchen Mats

I purchased two small mats (in white/gold) to protect the wood floors in my kitchen. The color looks very elegant against my light wood floors (the gold is subtle, not a shiny metallic), and the weave has a mid-century look that I love. The bound edges make the mats particularly durable and polished. It seems like they will be easy to wipe down to clean. Overall, I'm very pleased!

Looks seamless on a light floor

we use this mat at the entry of our house- we have blond floors and the color, looks amazing! almost like its not even there. easy to wipe down and vacuum, catches most entry dirt, but the pile is lower so best to clean as needed.

Lovely but will damage your wood floors

These are beautiful, well-designed mats. They're easy to clean, very durable (even with pets), and have a modern, organic look that works well in my home. I use them in the kitchen, guest bedroom, and several hallways.
However, the backing can adhere to wood floors and separate from the mat when moved, leaving black residue on the floor and damage to the backing itself.
I was told by the store that this can be avoided by lifting the mat and dry-swiffering underneath weekly. That level of maintenance feels unrealistic, particularly for mats placed under heavier furniture. While I expect some upkeep from a premium product, I don't expect it to risk floor damage or require frequent moving of large pieces.
As a result, I'm now dealing with both floor cleanup and noticeable deterioration of the mat backing. I was also disappointed by the lack of engagement from customer service when I raised this concern.
Overall, I love the look of the mats, but the backing issue is a significant drawback that potential buyers should be aware of.
