The Grain Drum Pendant from Ravenhill Studio offers a refined and organic style. A fabricator in L.A. told the brand that traces of wood grain from the metal-spinning tool could be seen in the finished parts. Leaning into this, a pattern maker helped create custum molds from maple boards, sandblasted to raise the wood grain. The molds are then spun on a lathe at the same speed as a sheet of aluminum, forming around the mold to add the grain pattern to the pendant's shade. The result is a contemporary and comforting appearance that fits most settings.
