Don't recommend as a bedside light

We liked the George Kovaks design until we got it installed. Unfortunately, it has a bright glow in the dark on/off button that is terrible if you want it as a bedside light.

Just okay...

Overall the lamps are okay. They certainly look good and the overall quality is fine but they have a few serious shortcomings. The switch is always lit when the lamp is off and it is too bright for a bedroom bedside reading lamp as a consequence. The second more serious problem is the way the switch is anchored to the lamp face. The manufacture used sort of a snap ring that clearly wasn't working well. The solution was to use hot melt glue to hold everything in place. The problem is that any pressure on the rear cover plate pops the switch out. This is unacceptable. The client liked the lamps so in one case we installed the lamps without the back plate and I had to re-glue the other two, ridiculous. If these were for me I would have sent them back.

very bright, hard to use

I wrote the company right after these were installed (a replacement after 20 years) because the lights are SO bright. The lamps we were replacing could dim easily, enabling reading when my husband is asleep. These are too bright to use for this. I got no response from the company. Recently, but accident I found they can be dimmed. I still don't know how to do this, however. It is not intuitive.

Not Well Made At All!

I ordered 2 of these swing arm wall lights in Chrome for my bedroom. Right out of the box they did not look or feel well made. I was hesitant to install and then one week after installing the head of each light loosened from use and would not stay up. There is no way to adjust the tightness of the head of the lamp. The metal rod that sticks down from the head should allow you to position the head in any direction but once it loosened the head just hung down and could no longer be angled. Also, the on/off button glows a bright orange when in the off position. If you like a dark bedroom do not get these lamps as the glow from the on/off button is very bright. Only way to turn it off is to unplug the lamp! I should have gone with my instinct right out of the box and returned immediately. Don't waste your time these will not hold up to any kind of use and on/off button glows too brightly.
