As its name states outright (in German, of course), the Ingo Maurer Knueller Floor Lamp is a definite blockbuster. Its outstanding feature is the central orb, a woven wire cage filled with tissue paper to diffuse the lights within (energy efficient and cool-to-the-touch CFLs). The height of this globe is adjustable along the stem, with the light inside easily controlled by a pull chain. Designed by Bernhard Dessecker.
