In the Jewish religion, the Mezuzah is the name of the case containing a scroll inscribed with two verses from the Torah (Deuteronomy 6:4-9 and 11:13-21) and is affixed to the door frame of a home's entrance. "The letter 'shin' that is usually on the face of the mezuzah has been incorporated into the topography of the textured form, left for you to discover," says designer Dror Benshetrit. The Alessi Connection Mezuzah is part of a collaborative contemporary design project with the Jewish Museum in New York.
