Designed by Freshwest (Marcus Beck and Simon Macro), the Moooi Brave New World Floor Lamp began as an exercise in random thought-initiated construction. Freshwest followed the method used to construct old Far Eastern bamboo scaffolding. With no plan or design in mind, each piece of wood is carefully notched and pegged together to form an essential part of the overall structure. The Brave New World is made from oak, with cast iron balancing weights and a twisted red fabric cord.
