Based on the belief that light is meant to be shared, the Wick Rechargeable LED Table Lamp by Graypants offers its surroundings a sleek and stately accompaniment with the romantic retro flair of candlelight. Made from recycled materials, it starts with a beveled aluminum base that flares upward slightly before sweeping up into a single stem, accented by a single ring that calls to mind the structure of traditional candleholders. Illumination is provided by an integrated LED set beneath a translucent, cylindrical diffuser at the top of the stem that casts an even, wide-reaching glow that burnishes the metalwork below. It’s powered by a rechargeable lithium battery and an included, though detachable cable that provides go-anywhere flexibility and allows the lamp to stand on its own.
Founded in 2007 in Seattle, Washington, Graypants is the creative brainchild of architects Seth Grizzle and Jonathan Junker. Known for their acclaimed first line of pendant lights made entirely of repurposed cardboard, Graypants has matured into an industrial and product design studio with a diverse portfolio of lighting focused on responsible production. Each pendant is characterized by this philosophy of local and sustainable production, and the company has even branched out to the European market stationed in Amsterdam. Never losing sight of the fun in designing, Graypants is young, fresh and current, meeting the demands of today's need for sustainable design.
