A fishing rod and a mannequin. Industry pioneer Marc Sadler created the Italian-made Twiggy Wood LED Floor Lamp from Foscarini with the ‘ridiculous’ idea of a figure holding a fishing rod. What stemmed from an idea grounded in Sadler’s intellectual curiosity and artistic passion slowly steered toward a design built on function and refinement. Sadler’s key visual for the piece is the arch. He draws the curved line with a flexible and shape-holding synthetic fiber stem. The artfully leaning stem anchors to the floor with the help of a circular metal base. A limed durmast wood shade smiles down at you with a warm, diffused light. The light brings out the tones and textures of the organic wood.
