The Gus Modern Transit Bench is a versatile piece that can be used for seating in spaces large or small, or even as a coffee table. Its top is made of solid ash wood slats that are joined precisely in parallel, creating a look that's pleasingly proportional, lightweight and sturdy. The base has tubular steel legs that are slightly splayed for stability.

Mid-century modern design interpreted with an industrial edge. Such is the modis operandi of Gus* Modern. Every accessory, sofa, sectional, chair and table they design is inspired by simple forms and honest materials. The resulting modern furniture pieces are clean, elegant and versatile, with crisply tailored upholstery and solid, eco-friendly FSC-certified wood frames. Founded in 2000, Gus* Modern is based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Modern take on a classic bench Bought this bench for the entryway into my home gym & dance studio. It adds the perfect combination of function and style. It's sturdy and comfortable, and looks expensive. However, I only gave 4 stars for Construction because a couple of the screw holes on the underside did not line up exactly, but I was still able to make the legs secure via the remaining screw holes.
