Key Features
A bird’s grasping talon elegantly represented in blown and hand-applied glass. The Talon Pendant from Jamie Young is a modern piece setting a stylish, sophisticated tone in any room. While beautiful on its own, you get the pendant’s one-of-a-kind personality as part of a series. The pendant descends from the ceiling and low-profile canopy with a handsome metal down rod. The eyes are instantly treated to a handblown glass shade in a soft cylindrical form. Creating a striking 3-d effect, artisans fuse glass ribbons to the shade’s surface to artfully represent a striking talon. Light bounces off these sculptural ribbons while melting across the opaque shade. The light exits as a warm ambient glow.
A day trip to Mexico in the 90’s inspired husband and wife David and Jamie to utilize unconventional materials in design. They began incorporating flower pots as lamp bases, and from there the Jamie Young Company was born; focusing on unique materials and taking note on current design trends. By taking influence from their travels and their love of art and history, Jamie Young and David Jeter have sought to build a company that can bring a global aesthetic into a variety of homes.
