Lumens

The amount of light that comes from a bulb, which has commonly been measured in watts. The more lumens, the brighter the bulb.

Wattage

A measurement of the power delivered to a component of an electric circuit (allowing a one-ampere current to flow through the component under the pressure of 1 volt.)

Bulb Shape

Bulb shapes are denoted with a letter, which describes the shape, and a number, which indicates the size. The number indicates the diameter of the light bulb at its widest part in eighths of an inch.

Base

The part of the bulb that connects to the fixture and its power supply. Bulb bases are denoted with the letter E, and a number which indicates the diameter of the bulb base at its widest part in millimeters.

Voltage

Indicates how much voltage a bulb can accept via the fixture it's installed in.

Light Color Temperature

The relative color from a light source, measured on the Kelvin temperature scale. Warm light is lower in color temperature (2700-3000 K) and cool, blue light is higher (5000 K).

Average Rated Life

The average amount time that a bulb is expected to last.

CRI

CRI = color rendering index. This number, which can go from 0 to 100, measures the ability of a light or bulb accurately renders colors. The higher the number, the better, with most quality bulbs these days measuring at least in the 80s.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Attractive and functional I am happy with the purchase of this ceiling fan/light. I have installed several other ceiling fans previously and the installation of this fan is similar as you might expect. There were a few extra installation steps to attach the light socket, align the upper and lower rods, attach the section below the blades. A step that is not listed but should be performed is to tighten the screws on the body rods as mine were loose upon arrival and I didn't notice this when it would have been easier to address. I am not impressed with how the lower assembly only twists on some grooves to secure - I am worried about these coming loose over time. This also requires you to adjust the rotation of the upper assembly after the fan is installed. So, 4 stars for assembly design, but 5 stars overall. But, the design is attractive and it moves air efficiently. There was no wobble after assembly that I could tell.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Great Looking Fan! I was looking for a ceiling fan to complement my mid-century modern living room. This fan definitely fits the bill! It was delivered quickly and was easy to install. It is quiet but moves a good amount of air and the light has good illumination, but most of all it is super stylish! I've gotten several compliments on it. It is a bit on the expensive side, but I think it's worth it!

It was installed in a family room with a cathedral ceiling, the air circulation is great and the light is bright enough for a large room. The quality is better than I anticipated and the electricians who installed it were also impressed. A little on the pricey side but definitely worth it!

Everyone that comes to the house comments on what a cool fan it is. The light shape matches the pendants over the kitchen bar area, giving a feeling they all go together. I highly recommend this company for their cool, stylish and different fans offered. Way to go Modern Fan Company!!!

It has a decent amount of light and the fan works perfectly to cool my room which is an open living room/dining room/kitchen space. I wish the metal portion that houses the wires and the "stem"were brushed silver instead of black but really that is my only complaint about this gorgeous fan.

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great airflow and interesting design I purchased this fan 6 months ago for our screened-in porch; it puts out the much-needed air flow we need here in the hot summers of the South, not to mention the appearance is a work of art in itself. I liked this fan so much, especially for how much of a breeze it creates, that I recently purchased a 2nd matching one for the porch as well. I have the remote version and it's great. My one complaint is that the first fan I purchased, every now and then it will make a clicking sound when on. That being said, I'm going to have a handyman take a look and it may just be something minor on the install. Other than that, they're super quiet. I love this fan, bought 2 of them, and feel it's totally worth the $$ for the effect and product that you get.
