Created by self-acclaimed "absent-minded smoker" Achille Castiglioni, the Alessi Spirale Ashtray is the smaller version of an original 1970 design. First produced in silvered metal by Bacci in Bologna, this design was adopted by Achille Castiglioni for Alessi in 1986 with a number of modifications to its shape and size.

Alessi, known as the Italian design factory, has manufactured household products since 1921. The stylish and fun items offered are the result of contemporary partnerships with some of the world's best designers of unique and modern home accessories.
