Key Features
The Shado Pendant from SIN is a remarkable mix of contemporary simplicity enhanced by artisanal notes. A prominent part of the Gami Collection, its organic ceramic drapes intricately in a salute to the Japanese art of paper folding, where a single sheet of paper is manipulated to create complex forms; it descends from a stoneware canopy via a slim, though strong duo of cloth-covered cords, nestling strong lamping inside curled ceramic stoneware. The coordination of the sand-textured shade and canopy adds a natural note to the artistic fixture. At the same time, the clay sculpting makes each fixture unique from any others, the intricate folds calling to mind the art of origami while casting a mix of radiance and shadow below.
An American design company based in Brooklyn, SIN was founded by Virginia Sin in 2006. Specializing in ceramics, SIN brings sustainable designs to the home that challenge the limits of clay in the lighting industry.
